Frequently asked questions

Questions crews ask us

Do I need workers' comp to work with you?

No. Texas doesn't require private companies to carry workers' comp, so we accept it three ways: your workers' comp certificate; a short owners-only statement you sign in the portal, if it's just the owners with no employees; or your occupational accident policy, if you're a non-subscriber with employees. Public projects are different: everyone on the job must be covered.

What insurance do I need?

General liability of at least $1,000,000 each occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, on an ACORD 25 certificate that names Total Cladding and Roofing LLC as certificate holder and additional insured. The portal shows the exact wording to send your insurance agent. Commercial auto insurance helps if you bring vehicles to site.

Can a small crew or an owner-operator apply?

Yes. Tell us how many people are on your crew and which trades you cover.

Do you supply the materials?

Yes. These are labor-only jobs: we supply the materials and agree the scope with you before work starts. Your crew brings the labor, tools and safety gear.

Is the application in Spanish?

Yes. Choose Español at the top of this page or in the portal, and your emails come in Spanish too.

Do I need a roofing license?

Texas doesn't license roofing contractors at the state level. If you hold a city registration or an RCAT license, add it in the portal.

What happens after I apply?

We check your papers and call you. If something needs changing, we email you. Once you're approved, keep your papers up to date in the portal and let us know when you're free for work.

Where is the work?

On commercial and industrial jobs across Texas. In the portal you choose how far you'll travel or the areas you cover, so we only call you about jobs you can reach.

We investigate the roof problem and explain what can be repaired, restored or replaced, so you can decide how to invest in the building.

Roofing and cladding together

We can coordinate roof, insulation, wall panel and drainage work, including the connections where separate repairs can leave problems behind.

A plan for your working building

We agree access, work areas and protection with your site team, including any restrictions needed while the roof is opened.
