We built our business in the UK around the refurbishment of commercial and industrial buildings. Helping owners repair and improve the roofs and cladding they already have is still at the heart of what we do.

As our UK business grew, we took the next step by opening a US office in Texas. We are bringing the experience gained on UK refurbishment projects, together with highly specified European roofing and cladding solutions, to property owners in the US.

Our growth in the UK

Refurbishment has shaped the way we work. An existing building comes with a history: previous repairs, materials that have aged differently and, often, a business that needs to keep operating while the work takes place.

As we grew in the UK, these were the projects we specialized in. They taught us the importance of understanding a building before recommending a solution, and of listening to the people who own it, manage it and work inside it. We carry that approach into our work today.

Refurbishment is our specialty

We enjoy the challenge of working out how an existing building can be improved. That might mean restoring a weathered metal roof, replacing cladding that has reached the end of its useful life, or upgrading a roof as part of a wider investment in the property.

Our starting point is to understand what can be repaired, what can stay and what needs replacing. A localized problem may call for a straightforward repair. A more extensive refurbishment may bring together new roofing, insulation and cladding. We explain the options in relation to your building and what you want to achieve with it.

A new chapter in Texas

Opening our Texas office continues the growth of the business we built in the UK. It gives us a US base from which to work with property owners and project teams, bringing our refurbishment experience to a new market.

For us, the move is about making that experience useful here: helping customers tackle aging roofs and walls, plan improvements and consider roofing and cladding solutions they may not have worked with before.

European solutions, carefully specified

We opened our US office to bring highly specified European solutions to the American market. By that, we mean looking at a roof or wall as a complete system, with its materials, insulation, connections and weatherproofing details designed to work together.

The detail matters in refurbishment because the new work has to connect properly to the building that remains. We bring that attention to the proposal and installation, while selecting systems that suit the particular property, its exposure and the requirements of the US project.

Working around your business

We know a roofing project is only one part of running a property. You may be looking after tenants, keeping a production line moving or planning an investment that needs to last through the next stage of your business.

We want to understand those priorities from the first conversation. Knowing what needs to stay open, when access is possible and what concerns you most helps us plan the work with you. Tom Swainson leads Total Cladding and Roofing. Growing the business in the UK and opening our Texas office are part of the same ambition: to build a company known for its work on existing commercial and industrial buildings.

We want our customers to understand who they are working with and what we are proposing. From the first conversation, we discuss the building, the work it needs and the practicalities of carrying it out. Whether you manage one property or a portfolio, you can bring us a specific problem, an existing specification or a refurbishment project that is still taking shape.

Our Texas roofing association memberships

Total Cladding and Roofing LLC is a 2026 member in good standing of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) and the Central Texas Roofing Contractors Association (CTRCA). Both memberships are valid through December 2026.
