Supporting Your Project
These panels are attached through the metal sheet. The condition of screws, washers, laps and supporting material matters when investigating leaks. A replacement fastener must suit the connection; tightening a screw in a damaged hole does not by itself restore its holding ability.
Standing-seam panels have a different attachment and movement arrangement from exposed-fastener roofs. Profile, clips and seam details need to match the selected system. New penetrations and equipment attachments must be compatible with the roof’s movement and support requirements.
Damaged siding can involve panel faces, bases, corners or openings. Before replacing a section, check how water is managed behind and around it. A new panel face will not correct a failed flashing or deteriorated backing left in place.
Existing drawings and profile measurements help establish what can be matched. Additions may have different support levels or panel lengths, making the junction between old and new work a separate detail. Availability and finish matching need confirmation before ordering.
