Overview

IKO

IKO makes asphalt shingles and other roofing materials for North America. The company traces its roots to 1951 and marks 2026 as its 75th year. It is family-owned, described as family-owned for four generations. IKO serves homeowners and roofing contractors in the United States and Canada, and its website carries separate legal notices for each country.

IKO’s shingles are grouped into lines. Performance shingles are Dynasty, Nordic and Dynasty Cool Colors Plus. Designer shingles are Crowne Slate, Armourshake and Royal Estate. Architectural shingles are Cambridge and Cambridge Cool Colors Plus. The traditional 3-tab shingle is Marathon Plus AR.

The Technical Library covers six of these.

Royal Estate. A designer shingle in the Designer group.

Crowne Slate. A designer shingle in the Designer group.

Armourshake. A designer shingle in the Designer group.

Nordic. A performance shingle in the Performance group.

Dynasty. A performance shingle in the Performance group.

Cambridge. An architectural shingle in the Architectural group.

IKO also sells metal shingles under IKO Metals, in the Spanish Tile, Mediterranean Tile and Farmhouse Shake profiles. Its low-slope products include Roof-Fast Base and Cap. Accessories include underlayments, ice and water protectors and starters.

The IKO North America website is iko.com/na. Affiliated divisions linked from the site are IKO Global, IKO Commercial, IKO Metals and Armoroof Export.

The library entries pair each of the six shingles with its technical data sheet.

IKO’s Cool Colors Plus versions of Dynasty and Cambridge are listed on the same website as separate shingle names. Crowne Slate, Armourshake and Royal Estate are the three designer shingles, and Nordic and Dynasty are two of the three performance shingles. Cambridge is one of the two architectural shingles. Each is presented with its own color range on the IKO North America website.

The company’s contractor audience is served through the same site as its homeowner audience. Metal shingles, low-slope products and accessories are listed beside the asphalt shingle lines, so the website covers the roof from the deck to the ridge.
