Overview

Armourshake is a heavyweight designer asphalt shingle made by IKO for steep-slope roofing in the United States. It is a laminated, two-piece shingle on a fiberglass reinforcement with a dimensional, shake-style profile that imitates natural wood.

It belongs to IKO's Designer Collection with Crowne Slate and Royal Estate. IKO publishes a data sheet dated 04/2026.

Impact ratings

The standard Armourshake carries a Class 3 impact resistance rating under FM 4473 / UL 2218. A Class 4 rating under FM 4473 / UL 2218 is offered in Shadow Black only.

Both ratings exist solely so that residential property owners can obtain a residential insurance reduction, if one is available. Neither is a guarantee against hail.
