Overview

Malibu is a medium-profile concrete roof tile made by Eagle Roofing Products. It is part of the manufacturer's range of concrete residential roof tile for residential roofing. Its rounded rise is lower than that of the high-profile Capistrano.

The curve is moderate. The resulting pattern differs from the deeper barrel of Capistrano and from the nearly flat Bel Air family.

Shape and style

Malibu is a double-S barrel tile, a modern version of the S-tile. Its rise is limited to a maximum of 1 inch for every 5 inches of width, and its gentle curves give the roof field a rolling pattern.

The profile recreates the Mediterranean look of roofs in Italy, France and Greece in a contemporary form. The manufacturer pairs it with Modern and Contemporary homes, Spanish-style homes with a modern twist, distinctive homes, apartments, hotels and commercial buildings with low-pitched rooflines. Its size guidance for the profile is homes of 2,500 square feet or smaller, and it can also work on large buildings.
