Overview
VintageWood is a Nichiha architectural wall panel (AWP) in the Wood Series, which has 13 styles and colors and is Nichiha's largest product line. The panel is fiber cement with a finely embossed grain that follows real wood texture and plank patterning. The face is a series of carefully spaced grooves.
It is used on rainscreen wall systems alongside glass, metal and block panels, to which its wood look adds warmth. It is engineered with an integrated rainscreen, offers corner options, and is approved for soffit and angled-wall installation, which has its own one-sheet.
Materials and construction
The panels are fiber cement. The coating gives color depth and tonal variation, and each panel is factory-finished and sealed on all sides. The finish is low sheen. The panels are tested to ASTM and AAMA standards for freeze-thaw, heat-rain and water penetration.

Two formats are made, each 17-7/8 inches high (455 mm) and 5/8 inch (16 mm) thick.
- AWP 1818: 71-9/16 inches long (1818 mm), 8.88 square feet exposed, 2 pieces per pack covering 17.76 square feet
- AWP 3030: 119-5/16 inches long (3030 mm), 14.81 square feet exposed, 2 pieces per pack covering 29.62 square feet
Within the Wood Series, the VintageWood profile shows three planks across the full width of the panel. RiftSawn has one plank with a darker reveal at the top, RoughSawn has four planks of consistent height staggered horizontally, and Natura has four planks of varied height staggered horizontally.
Weight
The AWP 1818 panel weighs 34.8 pounds, or 3.9 pounds per square foot. The AWP 3030 panel weighs 57.3 pounds, or 3.8 pounds per square foot.
Orientation and installation
The AWP 3030 format can be installed vertically or horizontally. The AWP 1818 format goes on horizontally only. Install guides are published for both horizontal and vertical layouts.
Panels attach with the Ultimate Clip System, a clip with hidden fasteners, which is the same across all AWP products so that textures and colors can be mixed on one wall. The integrated rainscreen provides ventilation and drainage behind the panels. The system is approved by Miami-Dade County.
