Document record

This two-page technical data sheet covers KF-600 KoolFlex 100% silicone roof coating, a high solids, single-component moisture-cure elastomeric silicone. The sheet is marked ASTM D6694 compliant and revised in January 2025. The primary use listed is low slope roofs, over substrates including masonry, concrete, metal, vertical walls, TPO, PVC, Hypalon, EPDM, modified bitumen, smooth and granulated BUR, and sprayed urethane foam.

Listed properties are 95% volume solids, specific gravity 1.30 at 77 degrees F, tack-free time of 1 to 2 hours, rain-safe in 1 hour, final cure of 30 hours, and dry coat thickness of 20 mils. Elongation is 279% at 73 degrees F and 248% at 0 degrees F initially, and 229% at 0 degrees F after 5,000 hours of accelerated weathering. Initial tensile strength is 266 psi at 73 degrees F and 247 psi at 0 degrees F, tear strength is 30 lbf/in, permeance is 6.3 perms, initial SRI is 109, and VOC is below 50 g/l.

The sheet specifies airless spray at a minimum of 3,500 psi and 3 gallons per minute, or a medium nap roller or brush. The rate is 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet, equal to 17 mils wet film thickness. The sheet says not to thin the product, and not to apply below 40 degrees F or when rain is expected within four hours. Colors are white, gray and tan, in 50 and 5 gallon containers, with a 24-month shelf life.

Material changes / notes

Use this component sheet with the complete roof-system specification. Follow the preparation, application and cure instructions for the selected substrate and coating layers.
