Landmark Solaris AR overview
Landmark Solaris AR is a laminated asphalt shingle made by CertainTeed. It is the algae-resistant cool roof version of the Landmark shingle. Its ceramic-coated mineral granules have high solar reflectance, and the shingle is offered in a traditional color palette.
It is a separate product from standard Landmark, Landmark PRO Solaris and Landmark TL Solaris. In residential shingle roofing it is the exposed covering of a pitched roof, and underlayment, flashing, starter and ridge products are separate components.
Every color of Landmark Solaris AR is rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC).
Materials and construction
Landmark Solaris AR has a fiber glass mat base. High-reflectance ceramic-coated mineral granules are embedded in refined, water-resistant asphalt. Two pieces are laminated together with asphaltic cement, and each shingle has self-sealing adhesive strips.
The shingle also carries CertainTeed's NailTrak feature, a wider nailing area. Landmark Solaris AR shingles help protect against dark or black discoloration, sometimes called staining or streaking, caused by blue-green algae (Gloeocapsa magma). Available colors vary by region. The colors offered for Landmark Solaris AR in each region are listed in the product brochure and on the CertainTeed website.

Colors and cool roof compliance
Graphite and Weathered Wood are offered nationwide across the United States and Canada. Graphite is a soft gray, and Weathered Wood is a gray and brown blend. The StreakFighter algae resistance comes from copper-infused granules.
Landmark Solaris shingles, the product family, are tested to withstand winds up to 110 mph and have UL Class A fire resistance. Colors labeled High Index have a high solar reflective index.
- Every color is rated by the CRRC.
- Every color can comply with the 2022 California Title 24 Part 6 Cool Roof Requirements.
