Overview

Shangle Ridge is a self-sealing, two-piece asphalt shingle from CertainTeed for capping hips, ridges and rakes of shingled roofs. The name is a registered mark of CertainTeed.

It is applied only after the primary shingles are on both intersecting roof decks. Its colors are chosen to complement the main roof. Grand Manor, Carriage House, Belmont and Highland Slate are the field shingles it is made to accompany.

Composition

The base is a fiber glass mat with ceramic coated mineral granules embedded in refined, water-resistant asphalt. It is made in an Algae-Resistant version only.

The shingle has a reinforced nailing area and an adhesive strip. It is fastened with standard roofing nails. Two full layers of the accessory are applied on the ridge.
