Overview

Landmark ClimateFlex is a CertainTeed polymer modified asphalt shingle in the residential shingle roofing category. It is a polymer modified Landmark style shingle on a fiber glass mat base with strict dimensional tolerance. Complex granule color blends and subtle shadow lines give its color selection.

The shingle is produced with the NailTrak nailing feature. Landmark ClimateFlex Algae-Resistant (AR) shingles help protect against dark or black discoloration, sometimes called staining or streaking, caused by blue-green algae. Colors of Landmark ClimateFlex vary by region.

Materials and construction

The Landmark ClimateFlex granule surface is ceramic-coated mineral granules set in refined, water-resistant asphalt over the fiber glass mat. The two pieces of a Landmark ClimateFlex shingle are laminated together in an asphaltic cement. All CertainTeed produced shingles have self-sealing adhesive strips for wind uplift resistance.

Polymer-modified asphalt

The shingle is made of polymer-modified asphalt with rubberized material. It is a designer shingle that is heavier than a strip shingle and imitates the look of wood shake. The material stays pliable in cold weather, so the shingle can be handled and installed at low temperatures.
