Overview

Geocel

Geocel is a sealant brand offered by The Sherwin-Williams Co. as part of its Building Solutions program for metal roofing and metal building products. It is sold mainly through roofing distribution across the U.S.

The brand is one of several Sherwin-Williams product families designed to work together: the metal coatings are applied first and Geocel sealants seal them. The Geocel line has been offered for more than 45 years.

Geocel roof sealants are made for metal roofs, wall panels and rainware, in major manufacturers’ standard colors. The Sherwin-Williams sealant listing names 4350 Metal Roof & Siding, 2300 Tripolymer, and 8150 100% Silicone.

Sherwin-Williams also publishes a Geocel Metal Roofing Sheet and a Geocel Metal Roofing Color Card as PDF files for the brand as a whole.

Two Geocel metal roof sealants are covered here. GEOCEL 4350 is a chemically curing hybrid sealant that meets ASTM C 920, Type S, Grade NS, applies in damp or dry conditions at 0 to 120°F and is rated for -40 to 200°F in service. GEOCEL Phantom is a solvent-based, gun-grade sealant for metal roof seams and through-roof projections, made in six translucent colors so the panel color shows through.

Relevant manufacturer history
