Joint and sealant

Its common lock joint minimizes moisture intrusion, and IW-10A panels can share one project with the other IW profiles. No fasteners are exposed. Over 60 standard colors plus custom colors are offered across the series. Metl-Span Fluorofinish Kynar 500 or Hylar 5000 based fluoropolymer is the coating system.

Materials and gauges

The steel face sheet is coil-coated to ASTM A 755/A 755M over G90 (Class Z275) zinc-coated steel to ASTM A 653/A 653M, structural steel quality. Nominal uncoated thicknesses are 0.030 inch (22 gage), 0.036 inch (20 gage) and 0.047 inch (18 gage). The 18 gage is unembossed only. The surface is non-directional embossed or unembossed.

Installation

The IW-10A can be installed year-round, which permits fast-track scheduling. The wall assembly can include Metl-Span BW Systems, an insulated composite metal backup panel, or panels over a masonry wall, over a framed wall with outside insulation, or over an uninsulated framed screen wall. Secondary metal subgirt framing is used for panel attachment.

Specification data

Load span tables for the IW-10A are based on Allowable Stress Design (ASD), and an allowable wind load table in psf is published for it. For ASCE 7-10 (LRFD) loads, section 2.4.1 of ASCE 7-10 gives the applicable ASD load combinations. The IW-10A is listed under 2012 MasterFormat Section 07 42 13.19, and its data sheet carries the code MS_IW10.
