Wind rating and warranty

The Atlas Lifetime Limited Warranty applies to Castlebrook. Atlas rates the shingle for protection against damage from winds up to 130 mph, and the wind rating is attributed to HP42 technology.

Colors

Castlebrook comes in seven colors:

  • Black Shadow
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Desert Shake
  • Dove Gray
  • Hearthstone
  • Pewter
  • Weathered Wood

The colors fall into six families: black, brown, red, tan, gray and white.

Place in the Atlas shingle range

The Atlas asphalt shingle range for steep-slope roofing includes ProLam, Pinnacle Pristine, Pinnacle Sun, Pinnacle Impact and StormMaster Shake. Those five lines share a 42 inch by 14 inch shingle with a 6 inch exposure and 18 to 20 shingles per bundle. They are rated UL 790 Class A for fire and UL 2390 Class H for wind, and they are listed as Florida Building Code approved (FL 16305) and Miami-Dade County Product Control approved.

Their impact ratings differ by line: ProLam, Pinnacle Pristine and Pinnacle Sun are UL 2218 Class 3, while Pinnacle Impact and StormMaster Shake are UL 2218 Class 4. Castlebrook differs from those lines as a three-tab shingle with its own seven-color set.

Application

Castlebrook is installed on steep-slope roofs, the same setting as other asphalt shingle roofing products. Atlas publishes a color guide, installation instructions and a product data sheet for Castlebrook, and environmental product declarations for its Daingerfield and Franklin plants.
