Overview

ProLam is a laminated architectural asphalt shingle from Atlas Roofing for steep-slope roofs in the United States. It is built in the Atlas HP42 wide-format, with oversized shingle dimensions. The laminated shingle has distinct shadow lines and random cuts that give the texture of a multi-layered wood shake shingle.

Within the Atlas range, ProLam is the line with a UL 2218 Class 3 impact rating, an algae-resistant shingle and a 130 mph wind limited warranty. Its data sheet is numbered ATL-267621-00 and dated 10/26.

The HP42 format has a Sweet Spot nailing area and a double FASTAC sealant line. The Class 3 impact rating is validated by PRI.

Dimensions and packaging

ProLam uses the HP42 format of 42 inches by 14 inches.

  • Length: 42 inches (1066.8 mm)
  • Width: 14 inches (355.6 mm)
  • Exposure: 6 inches (152.4 mm)
  • Shingles per bundle: 18 to 20

Sealant protection tape is placed on the back of each shingle and is not removed before the shingle is applied. Bundles are stored on a flat surface and protected from weather in storage and on the work site.
