QuadCore KS Flat Interior

QuadCore KS Flat Interior is an insulated wall and ceiling panel for the inside of controlled environments. It is part of the Kingspan KS Series and uses the QuadCore insulation core. The exterior face is Flat, and the interior face is either Flat or Shadowline. Both faces are produced stucco embossed or smooth.

Recorded uses are interior walls and ceilings in cold storage buildings, food and meat processing plants, critical temperature and controlled environment areas, cleanrooms, data centers, medical and pharmaceutical facilities, life-science and biotechnology facilities, and advanced-technology facilities. Coverage is a single standard width of 45 3/8 inches (1,153 mm), and the panel is run vertically.

The QuadCore core is rated about R-8 per inch at a 75 degree F mean temperature and about R-9 per inch at 35 degrees F, tested to ASTM C518. For this panel, R-value climbs with thickness as shown.

Weights are published in pounds per square foot at the 45 3/8 inch width. Three of the six facer pairings in the weight table fall within this panel's 24 and 22 ga range.

A panel 6 inches thick with 22 ga on both faces is therefore the heaviest listed combination at 4.00 lb/sq ft.

The Los Angeles regional approval is City of LA (LADBS) CCRR 0567; FB 3080. Listed fire results refer to thicknesses of 2 to 8 inches, a 45 inch width, a minimum panel length of 8 feet and minimum facer gauges of 26 ga. FM compliance follows the FM installation specifications on ApprovalGuide.com.

This panel shares a span table with KS Shadowline Interior. Spans are single-span values at an interior design load of plus or minus 5 psf and are given for L/180 and L/120 deflection, with no temperature differential and with differentials of 50, 75 and 100 degrees F.

For 24 ga on both faces with no differential, a 2 inch panel spans 20 feet 5 inches at L/180 and 23 feet 7 inches at L/120, a 4 inch panel spans 32 feet 10 inches and 34 feet 8 inches, and an 8 inch panel spans 49 feet 7 inches at both. For 22 ga on both faces, the matching 2 inch values are 21 feet 11 inches and 25 feet 4 inches, and the 8 inch values are 55 feet 1 inch and 55 feet 7 inches.

With a 22 ga exterior, 24 ga interior and a 75 degree F differential, a 3 inch panel spans 16 feet 10 inches at L/180 and 22 feet 2 inches at L/120. At a 100 degree F differential a 6 inch panel of the same build spans 25 feet 10 inches and 34 feet 3 inches.

CLEAN safe 120 coating is offered for protection against corrosion and for hygiene-safe requirements where surfaces meet secondary food contact and corrosive cleaning agents. For interior heavy washdown areas, plastisol (PVC) coatings and stainless steel facings are also available.

The KS Series interior vertical CAD set shows interior panel profiles, expanded and engaged joints, fastening patterns 1A through 5A, thermal cuts at the joint, insulated slab base channels, partition bases on insulated floors and curbs, partition and liner-panel corners, framed openings with double pan or thermally broken heads and jambs, stack joints, rakes against a membrane roof and low and high eaves. Ceiling sheets cover wall-to-ceiling intersections, ceiling channels and tees, and hidden clips.

The break-form trim sheets for the series list base flashing trims made at 10 foot lengths in 26, 24 or 22 ga, in stucco embossed, Azteco embossed or smooth, in Kynar or MP/SMP finishes. The base flashing dimension A is the panel thickness plus 1/4 inch: 2 1/4 inches for a 2 inch panel, up to 6 1/4 inches for a 6 inch panel. The stretch-out of one base flashing runs from 5 1/2 inches at 2 inches to 9 1/2 inches at 6 inches, and a second trim runs from 7 inches to 11 inches over the same thicknesses.

A 30-year limited thermal warranty is available on QuadCore-equipped panels. Its R-value term limits variation to 10 percent from the published average at the sale date, for products purchased on or after June 1, 2018. Kingspan insulated metal panels hold a UL GREENGUARD Gold certificate to UL 2818, certificate number 86747-420, valid 31 Aug 2017 to 31 Aug 2026.
