Overview

Swisspearl Patina Original NXT is a through-colored fiber cement board with fine sanding lines on its matte face. The restrained linear grain and small variations in the surface are its visible character.

The board comes in timeless colors and evolves over time, with unique and subtle variations on the surface. It is the first of three Patina NXT boards, followed by Rough NXT and Structure NXT, and is sold for external and internal wall and ceiling coverings, including rainscreen façade work. Version 12/25 is the edition printed, with AC 90 / ASTM 1185 / EN 12467 at the head.

Surface and color

The surface treatment is fine sanding. The grain runs horizontally or vertically, depending on how the board is laid.

Shade deviation within a product and between products is part of production. The CIELAB model monitors only lightness ΔL, with color variation at ΔE = ± 2.5. UVA color resistance over 3000 hours is ΔE 2.7. A note on the color range says restrictions may apply.

Fire and impact performance

Euroclass reaction to fire is A2-s1, d0. ASTM E84 is Class A (does not ignite), NFPA 285 is passed and the 750 °C test under ASTM E136 is approved.

Impact testing under EAD 090062-01-0404 uses hard bodies of 1, 3 and 10 joules and soft bodies of 10, 60, 300 and 400 joules, and the 8 mm board is in impact end-use Category II-a.

Environmental data and certification

GWP-total (A1-C4) for Original NXT is 11.6, 15.5 and 19.4 kgCO2-eq at 6, 8 and 12 mm. Fossil GWP is 11.4, 15.2 and 19.0, and biogenic GWP is 0.22, 0.3 and 0.37.

Certifications are ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, M1 classification for VOC emission (EN 16516:2017 + A1:2020) and REACH (EC) No. 1907/2006. A Declaration of Performance with CE marking is issued under Regulation No. 305/2011.
