Swisspearl Patina Rough NXT

Swisspearl Patina Rough NXT is a rustic fiber cement board with a tough, textured, sand-blasted face. It is a through-colored board, and the blasted surface gives a stone-effect finish with a granular relief and naturally varied tone.

Rough NXT sits in the Patina NXT range between the finely sanded Original NXT and the grooved Structure NXT. It is sold for external and internal wall and ceiling coverings, including rainscreen façades. The version 12/25 data carries the heading AC 90 / ASTM 1185 / EN 12467.

The surface treatment is sand blasting. The textured face contrasts with the sawn edges of the board.

Shade deviation inside a board and between boards is part of production. Color variation on the production line, using the CIELAB model with only lightness ΔL monitored, is ΔE = ± 2.5. Color resistance to UVA after 3000 hours is ΔE 2.7. Restrictions may apply to the color range.

The surface has a non-visible surface treatment against moisture and dirt, and color and texture vary subtly from panel to panel. A fine coating forms over time.

Custom cut dimensions are available for specific projects. Thickness tolerance up to 0.79 in is +/- 0.024 in at 6 mm and +/- 0.032 in at 8 mm. Width and length from 39.4 in to 63.0 in carry ± 0.3 percent of nominal, and length over 63.0 in carries +/- 2.0 in.

• Minimum dry density: 87.4 lb/ft³ or more (ASTM 1186).
• Average dry density: 96.8, 98.0 and 101.1 lb/ft³.
• Moisture content: 5 to 10 percent.
• Modulus of elasticity (EN 12467), average at ambient: 12.8, 13.7 and 13.7 GPa.
• Wet flexural strength average: 3626, 3771 and 3771 psi; minimum class 2610 psi.
• Category and class (ASTM 1186): Type A, class IV.

• Service air temperature: -40 to +80 °C.
• Thermal expansion coefficient: 0.01 mm/m °C.
• Frost resistance: up to 100 cycles with RL > 0,75.
• Water absorption: below 25 percent after 24 hours at 105 °C and 24 hours in water.
• Moisture movement: 0.06 in (ASTM 1186).
• Water vapor resistance Z-value: 2.4, 2.5 and 1.8 GPa m² s/kg for 6, 8 and 12 mm.

The reaction to fire rating is A2-s1, d0 (EN 13501-1). Surface burning under ASTM E84 is Class A (does not ignite), NFPA 285 is passed and ASTM E136 at 750 °C is approved.

Impact tests under EAD 090062-01-0404 use hard bodies of 1, 3 and 10 joules and soft bodies of 10, 60, 300 and 400 joules. The 8 mm board is in impact end-use Category II-a.

GWP-total (A1-C4) for Rough NXT of 13.1, 17.5 and 21.9 kgCO2-eq at 6, 8 and 12 mm, with fossil GWP of 12.9, 17.2 and 21.5 and biogenic GWP of 0.24, 0.32 and 0.40.

Certifications are ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. The board has M1 classification for VOC emission (EN 16516:2017 + A1:2020) and is listed under REACH (EC) No. 1907/2006. A Declaration of Performance with CE marking is issued under Regulation No. 305/2011.
