Overview
Swisspearl Terra is a fiber cement façade board with a translucent, strongly pigmented finish applied over a gray-based board. The pigmentation gives the surface an earth-toned character, and the field is warmer and more saturated than the lightly pigmented Nobilis line.
Terra is one of three naturally dried color lines on a shared Swisspearl Largo technical data sheet, together with Carat and Nobilis. The boards are used for rainscreen façades on commercial buildings. The sheet is headed AC 90 / ASTM 1185 / EN 12467.
Finish and colors
The three color lines are naturally dried, with a translucent surface and through-colored fiber cement panels. Terra differs from the other two lines in its gray base and stronger pigmentation.
The current US selection includes six Amber shades, numbered 751 through 756, in the US delivery program. Carat is also offered with a special HR coating for greater scratch resistance and protection against heavy soiling and graffiti; that coating is listed under Carat.

Colors and Largo format
- Base panel: gray-based, naturally dried fiber cement.
- Surface structure: smooth and even.
- Optics: translucent and matte.
- Colors: Amber 751, 752, 753, 754, 755 and 756, running from light brown to very dark brown.
- Largo thickness: 8 mm.
Terra is available for interior use in the Largo format. Custom options are perforations, engravings in geometric shapes, patterns, logos or images, free forms and custom cutting.
The Largo format of Terra carries Cradle to Cradle Certified Full Scope, Bronze level, version 4.1. The assessment of Terra covers Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air and Climate Protection, Water and Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness.
Dimensions and weight
Terra is listed in three nominal thicknesses with two sheet sizes in each.
- Thickness: 6 mm, 8 mm and 12 mm.
- Width: 46.38 in and 49.21 in.
- Length: 98.82 in and 120.08 in.
- Average shipping weight: 2.54 lb/ft² at 6 mm, 3.40 lb/ft² at 8 mm and 5.08 lb/ft² at 12 mm.
Dimension tolerances are +/- 0.024 in on thickness at 6 mm, +/- 0.032 in at 8 mm and +/- 0.047 in at 12 mm, for thicknesses up to 0.79 in. Width between 39.4 in and 63.0 in has a tolerance of +/-1.18 in, and length over 63.0 in has a tolerance of +/- 2.0 in. These are given as an internal requirement.
Physical and mechanical properties
Dry density is at least 96.7 lb/ft³, with an average of 112.4 lb/ft³ (ASTM 1186). Moisture content is 2 to 7 percent.
- Average bending modulus of elasticity at ambient (E-module): 12.0 GPa.
- Flexural strength, wet average: 3669 psi (ASTM 1186).
- Flexural strength, minimum: 2610 psi (ASTM 1186).
- ASTM 1186 classification for Terra: Type A, class IV.
Color variation measured on the production line with the CIELAB color model is ΔE below 2.0. Color resistance to UV under Xenon arc accelerated weathering (ASTM G155) is ΔE below 5.0 at 3000 hours and ΔE below 5.0 at 5000 hours.
Thermal and moisture properties
- Temperature range of the air in use: -40 to +80 °C.
- Coefficient of thermal expansion: 0.01 mm/m °C.
- Thermal conductivity (ISO 8301, EN 12667): 0.5 W/mK.
- Frost resistance: 100 cycles at RL > 0,75 (EN 12467).
- Water absorption after 24 hours at 105 °C and 24 hours in water: 14.6 percent.
- Moisture movement at 30/90 percent RH (ASTM 1186): 0.009 in/ft.
Water vapor values are Z-value 5.21 GPa m² s/kg, vapor transmission resistance 38185 s/m, Sd 1.01 m and vapor resistance factor μ 651.
Fire and impact performance
The EN 13501-1 reaction to fire class is A2-s1, d0. ASTM E84 is listed as Class A (does not ignite). NFPA 285 and the behavior of materials at 750 °C under ASTM E136 are both listed as passed.
Impact resistance under the ETB-Guideline (1985) is listed as passed for balconies for both hard-body and soft-body tests.
Environmental data and certification
The environmental footprint is reported under EN 15804, ISO 14040 and ISO 14044: GWP-total (A1-C4) is 16,7 kgCO₂-eq, of which 0,74 is biogenic and 16,5 is fossil. The manufacturing facility holds ISO 9001 quality management certification.
A Declaration of Performance under European Regulation No. 305/2011 (Construction Products Regulation) is issued for the product, which bears the CE marking.
