Overview
The IW-13A is a single-skin metal panel and a 12 inch wide module with mini striations that give a flush look from a distance. Four profiles make up the IW Series: IW-10A, IW-13A, IW-20A and IW-40A. All are concealed fastener, single-skin panels. On commercial and industrial buildings, the IW-13A is applied as a metal wall panel in rainscreen cladding, in either orientation.

- Panel height: 1.50 inches (38 mm).

Lock joint
The IW-13A joins its neighbors through the series lock joint, which minimizes moisture intrusion and allows IW profiles to be interchanged. Fasteners stay concealed, and sealant can be factory-installed in the side joint. Side-joint sealant for the IW-13A is installed at the factory when specified.
Gauges and finish
The IW-13A is the only IW Series profile offered in 0.024 inch (24 gage, 0.60 mm) thickness, and it is not available in 18 gage. The other nominal thicknesses are 0.030 inch (22 gage) and 0.036 inch (20 gage). The face is G90 galvanized steel. The exposed finish is a fluoropolymer two-coat system with a 0.2 mil primer and a 0.8 mil 70 percent PVDF color coat, in Metl-Span Fluorofinish Kynar 500 or Hylar 5000 based fluoropolymer. Over 60 standard colors plus custom colors are offered.
Installation and orientation
The IW-13A can be installed vertically or horizontally in new construction and retrofit. Horizontal joints have a drip edge and a sloped drain shelf. A complete water-resistant barrier behind horizontal panels is recommended. Interior surfaces take the standard primer color unless another color is selected.
Load tables and specification
The IW-13A is covered by Allowable Stress Design (ASD) load span tables. Where loads are given under ASCE 7-10 (LRFD), section 2.4.1 of that standard gives the ASD load combinations. Its guide specification section is 2012 MasterFormat 07 42 13.19. Wall panel assemblies are designed and tested under negative load per ASTM E 72 for side joint disengagement.
