Overview
CF Mesa is a corrugated insulated metal panel from Metl-Span with a PUR foam core. Longitudinal planks run along the face, giving a flat, textured look. It is used for exterior and interior walls and for insulated ceiling panels in commercial, institutional and industrial buildings in the United States. The profile is a low-profile corrugated panel with a 1/8 in. rib. The same panel is used in cold storage buildings such as dry goods warehouses, cooler and freezer buildings and food processing facilities.
Mesa is the deeper of two related profiles; CF Light Mesa is the shallower. It belongs with the insulated metal wall panels in the CF wall range.
Dimensions
- Coverage widths: 30 in., 36 in., 42 in. and 44 in.

Profile and faces
The exterior has longitudinal planks at a nominal 4 in. on center, nominally 1/8 in. deep, embossed or unembossed. The interior is Mesa at 1/8 in. or Light Mesa at 1/16 in.
The exterior is G-90 galvanized or AZ-50 aluminum-zinc coated steel in 26, 24 or 22 gauge. The interior adds 304 and 316 stainless, and 22 gauge is not offered in stainless.
Core and joint
The core is foamed-in-place zero ozone depletion potential Class 1 PUR, and a PIR core version is also listed with its own data sheet. The thermal table below gives the PUR values. Mesa panels join through an offset double tongue-and-groove that carries an extended metal shelf for positive face fastening. Concealed clips eliminate thermal short circuits.
The V6 X-Span Clip is the concealed clip listed with the panel, with a matching V6 X-Span Edge Trim. The trims and extrusions drawn in the horizontal details include extended trim legs, drip edge, extruded base, extruded sill, extruded jamb and header, gasket and wet seal.
Finishes and colors
- Finish systems: Fluropon, Fluropon Premier, Fluropon Classic, Flurothane, Flurothane Coastal, WeatherXL and Igloo White Polyester
- Metallic finishes can show color shift, shade variance, striations and longitudinal patterning
- Light Stone in the Tuff Cote system does not match Light Stone in the Standard SP offering
- Pricing varies by color, gauge and quantity
Thermal values
The k-factor is 0.114 at 35°F mean core. Values below are for a 42 in. width at 35°F.
- 2 in.: U 0.059, R 17.5
- 2-1/2 in.: U 0.046, R 21.9

Fire testing
- ASTM E84: flame spread under 25, smoke developed under 450
- ASTM E119: one hour non-load bearing with two layers of Type X gypsum
- FM 4880 Class 1; an exterior wall requires FM 4881

- CAN/ULC S101 (one hour; 15 minute stay-in-place), S102, S134, S138: met
Structure, air, water and approvals
- ASTM E72, E1592 and FM 4881: load and FM wall load charts
- ASTM E283: under 0.01 cfm/ft² at 20 psf
- ASTM E331: no uncontrolled leakage at 20 psf
- Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance and State of Florida approval, neither available in 8 in. thickness
Details and specifications
- Panels for ceilings must be supported from above or by an internal support structure
- Panel skins must be captured at both ends to resist a 5 psf interior pressure
- Thermal bow is not addressed in the load tables and can call for 24 or 22 gauge faces
- MasterFormat 2012 Section 07 42 13.19
- Load span tables are based on Allowable Stress Design (ASD); ASCE 7-10 LRFD loads refer to section 2.4.1 of ASCE 7-10
- Thermal values are based on ASTM C518, ASTM C1363 and thermal modeling
- Guide specifications cover CF wall panels with PUR and with PIR
