Downspouts

Kingspan Downspouts are fabricated sheet-metal drainage components made from painted, embossed steel in 26, 24 or 22 ga. They are listed in the Cladding Accessories and Components family, with recorded uses in color-matched metalwork, roof drainage, and insulated roof panel and insulated wall panel projects. The US catalog provides CAD information for fabricating them.

Two assemblies are drawn. The wall downspout assembly is a 4 by 4 inch downspout. The roof downspout assembly is a 4 by 4 oversized downspout. Each assembly is made up of a downspout trim, an adapter, elbows and a strap, and each part is a bent or hemmed flat blank cut from coil.

The wall downspout assembly (CAD sheet series DS and DSE, revised 7/3/24) has five parts. The inside diameter of the 4 by 4 downspout is 3.875 inches at the top and 3.8125 inches at the bottom, and the seam is exposed on the back of the 4.0 inch face.

• Downspout trim, DS-44: blank width 16.75 inches by 10 feet 0 inches long, with 5 bends and no hems. The standard length is 10 feet and the trim is field cut as required.
• Downspout adapter, DSA44: blank width 16.25 inches by 4.5 inches long, with 6 bends and no hems. The faces measure 3.75 inches and 4.0 inches.
• Downspout elbow, outside seam, DSE44: blank width 17.00 inches by 1 foot 0 inches long, with 5 bends and no hems.
• Downspout elbow, inside seam, DSE44: the same 17.00 inch by 1 foot blank with 5 bends, with the seam on the opposite side. Elbow legs are 6.0 inches, and the drawing shows 70 degree and 140 degree angles.
• Downspout strap, flat, DSS01: blank width 2.50 inches by 10 feet 0 inches long, with no bends and 2 hems. The strap has 0.50 inch and 1.50 inch dimensions, is shipped flat, and is field cut and bent as required.

The roof downspout assembly (CAD sheet DS-03, DN-02 and DSE-753, revised 7/3/24 and 9/20/24) is the oversized version of the 4 by 4 downspout.

• Oversized downspout trim, DS-03: blank width 17.00 inches, with 5 bends. Lengths are 10 feet 3 inches or 15 feet 3 inches, up to a 20 foot maximum.
• Oversized downspout adapter, DN-02: blank width 17.00 inches by 4.5 inches long, with 6 bends.
• Oversized downspout elbows, outside seam DSE-753 and inside seam: each a 17.00 inch by 16.20 inch blank, with legs of 8.1 inches and 5.0 inches and a 4.125 inch dimension.
• Oversized downspout strap, bent: blank width 2.50 inches by 12 feet 0 inches long, shipped flat and field cut and bent as required. Its dimensions are 0.50 inch and 1.50 inch.

The oversized trim shows 3.875 inch, 4.0 inch and 4.125 inch dimensions together with 0.4375 inch and 0.50 inch bends. The seam is exposed on the back of the 4.0 inch face. Special lengths are arranged through customer service.

Every downspout part is ordered with an exterior finish selection.

• Gauge: 26 ga, 24 ga or 22 ga.
• Embossment: stucco embossed, Azteco embossed or smooth.
• Finish: standard Kynar, MP/SMP, or other.
• Color: selected from the Kingspan color charts.

The Kingspan color chart groups colors into Sherwin-Williams WeatherXL siliconized modified polyester (SMP) and Sherwin-Williams Fluropon PVDF with 70% PVDF resins. Fluropon Category 1 colors include Regal White (SR 0.70, E 0.86, SRI 85), Ascot White (SR 0.69, E 0.85, SRI 83), Bone White (SR 0.69, E 0.84, SRI 83), Driftwood (SR 0.45, E 0.86, SRI 50), Sandstone (SR 0.61, E 0.85, SRI 72) and Surrey Beige (SR 0.48, E 0.86, SRI 54). The WeatherXL SMP standard colors are Imperial White (SR 0.62, E 0.86, SRI 74), Driftwood (SR 0.55, E 0.86, SRI 64), Sandstone (SR 0.49, E 0.86, SRI 56) and Surrey Beige (SR 0.41, E 0.86, SRI 45).

Downspouts are drawn for Kingspan insulated roof and wall panel projects in North America. The details place the primary vapor barrier on the warm side in winter, and the structural supports shown in the drawings are not supplied by Kingspan. Custom profiles are offered, and the published trim profiles are drawn from the Kingspan construction details.
