Overview
TerraVue is a Metl-Span flat insulated metal composite roof panel system for commercial and industrial buildings. It is a foam-core insulated metal roof deck finished with a field-applied TPO or PVC roofing membrane. It is used on warehouses, manufacturing facilities, flat roofs on commercial buildings and data centers. As an insulated metal panel roof deck, it is also used with green roof systems and energy-efficient building standards.
Panel dimensions
- Coverage width: 44 inches.
- Thickness: 4, 5, 6 or 8 inches.
- Length: 8 feet 0 inches to 53 feet 0 inches.
- Panel width used for the published thermal values: 42 inches.

Materials and core
The exterior face and the interior face are each G90 galvanized or AZ-50 aluminum-zinc coated steel in 26, 24 or 22 gauge. The core is foamed-in-place PIR foam. The joint is an offset double tongue-and-groove with an extended metal shelf for positive face fastening.
Thermal values
Values are for a 42 inch panel width. R-Value is per ASTM C518 and U-Factor is per ASTM C1363 or simulation, based on a mean temperature of 35 degrees F.
- 4 inch: U-Factor 0.028, R-Value 35.9.
- 5 inch: U-Factor 0.022, R-Value 44.8.
- 6 inch: U-Factor 0.019, R-Value 53.8.
- 8 inch: U-Factor 0.014, R-Value 71.7.
U-Factor is in BTU/h-ft2-degrees F and R-Value is in h-ft2-degrees F/BTU.
Roof slope and membranes
The roofing membrane is TPO or PVC, both field-applied. The slope limits depend on the membrane and the attachment method.
- TPO, fully adhered: minimum 1/4:12, maximum 1/2:12.
- TPO, mechanically attached: minimum 1/4:12, maximum 1:12.
- PVC, fully adhered or mechanically attached: minimum 1/4:12, maximum 2:12.
Finishes and colors
Colors are shown on a Metl-Span color chart. Metallic finishes can show color shift, shade variance, striations and longitudinal patterning, which are inherent to the finish. All Metl-Span colors are formulated for solar reflectivity.
Structural data
The roof deck's load span tables follow Allowable Stress Design (ASD). Section 2.4.1 of ASCE 7-10 covers the ASD combinations for LRFD loads. The system is available in non-diaphragm configurations.
Color matching
Light Stone in Tuff Cote does not match Light Stone in Standard SP.
