Overview
Seal-Tite LT Half Round Gutter is a metal gutter from Metal-Era's Seal-Tite family, made for the drainage of roof edges. The gutter is a half round profile that hangs in external brackets, and all external gutter brackets are included with the product. Gutters are provided in 10'-0" lengths and are furnished to the required drainage capacity and size.
The half round gutter comes in several mounting versions: vertical fascia, non-vertical fascia with an "L" support, non-vertical fascia with a "V" support, and roof mount. Each version has its own print approval, and the vertical fascia version also has two installation instruction sheets, one for field notched lap joints and one for splice plates. The Seal-Tite LT line also includes a K-style gutter, which is a separate profile from this one.
The gutter works with optional drainage bars and with flow-through gravel stops. It is one of the perimeter metal components used to finish commercial gutter and drainage systems at the edge of a low-slope roof.
Versions and mounting styles
The four versions differ in how the gutter sits against the building and in the support that carries it.
- Vertical fascia: the gutter hangs against a vertical fascia in an external bracket fastened with #10 x 1 1/2-in. stainless steel fasteners, which are provided.
- Non-vertical fascia with "L" support: the support is a 1-in.-wide stainless steel "L" bracket wrapped in metal to match the gutter. The fascia angle or pitch is shown on the drawing, with a 24-in. standard dimension, and the roof pitch and the size of the "L" support determine the type of fasteners provided.
- Non-vertical fascia with "V" support: a stainless steel "V" support 1 in. wide, wrapped in metal to match the gutter, carries the gutter. Provided fasteners are #10 x 1 1/2-in. stainless steel fasteners and stove bolts.
- Roof mount: the bracket is fastened to the roof with provided #10-12 x 1-in. screws, and the drawing sets a 3-in. minimum.
All four versions share the same gutter profile, the same diameters, the same 10'-0" lengths and the same note package: material is provided with 6-inch-wide splice plates in some materials and needs field notched lap joints in others, stainless steel 1/8-in. pop rivets are provided, and welded accessories need a minimum material thickness of .050 in.

Gutter diameters and dimensions
Gutter diameters run from 5 in. to 10 in. in the vertical fascia and roof mount versions. The "L" support and "V" support versions are offered in 6-in. to 10-in. diameters, and the 5-in. size is not available in 22-gauge galvanized steel or .050-in. aluminum. Four dimensions are given for each diameter, labeled A, B, C and D, where D is the radius of the half round profile:
- 5-in. diameter: A 2 1/2 in., B 5 1/4 in., C 3 in., D 2 1/2 in. radius.
- 6-in. diameter: A 3 in., B 6 1/4 in., C 3 1/2 in., D 3 in. radius.
- 7-in. diameter: A 3 1/2 in., B 7 1/4 in., C 4 in., D 3 1/2 in. radius.
- 8-in. diameter: A 4 in., B 8 1/4 in., C 4 1/2 in., D 4 in. radius.
- 9-in. diameter: A 4 1/2 in., B 9 1/4 in., C 5 in., D 4 1/2 in. radius.
- 10-in. diameter: A 5 in., B 10 1/4 in., C 5 1/2 in., D 5 in. radius.
On the vertical fascia drawing, the fascia leg of the gutter carries two bracket fastener positions spaced 1/2 in. apart, with 1/2 in. above the upper one. A 2 1/4-in. standard dimension also appears on that drawing.
Cover materials and finishes
Gutter covers are manufactured in 22-gauge and 24-gauge galvanized steel and in .040-in. and .050-in. aluminum. .032-in. aluminum is also a material choice.
Two material limits apply:
- The 5-in. diameter is not available in 22-gauge galvanized steel or in .050-in. aluminum.
- Welded accessories need a minimum material thickness of .050 in.
On the vertical fascia print approval, 24-gauge steel, 22-gauge steel, .032-in. aluminum and .040-in. aluminum are marked for field notched lap joints, and .050-in. aluminum is marked for 6-in.-wide splice plates.
Finishes follow Metal-Era's standard coating options. Coil-coated standard colors carry an included 30-year Kynar 500 finish warranty. Custom post-coated Kynar 500 colors carry an included 10-year Kynar 500 finish warranty. Anodized finishes are also offered with a 5-year warranty; coil anodized finishing has no warranty, and post-coat Class 1 batch anodized finishing has a 5-year warranty that can be raised to 10 years for an upcharge. Pricing for anodized finishes comes from Metal-Era Technical Services. The print approval form has fields for color and finish on each order.
External brackets and spacing
The gutter is carried by external brackets made of 3/16-in. by 1-in. stainless steel, wrapped in metal to match the gutter. The brackets are included with the product and support larger volumes of water as well as extreme snow and icing conditions.
Bracket spacing depends on the gutter diameter:
- 5-in. and 6-in. diameters: 36 in. on center.
- 7-in., 8-in., 9-in. and 10-in. diameters: 24 in. on center.
Brackets are installed before anything else in the assembly. Each bracket has 5/16-in.-diameter holes, and the external gutter bracket is a J-shaped strap that cradles the gutter and ends in a lip that the gutter edge locks into.
Joints, miters and accessories
Joint method depends on the material. Field notched lap joints are made with a 2-in. lap at each joint, sealed with non-curing sealant (supplied by others) and, once the lap is installed, riveted 2 in. on center. Splice plate joints use a 6-in.-wide concealed splice plate at each joint, with the same non-curing sealant and 2-in. rivet spacing once the splice is installed.
Factory-fabricated accessories are part of the product. Unless otherwise noted, miters are fabricated with pop rivets and then factory sealed watertight. The print approvals provide quantity lines for 90-degree outside miters, 90-degree inside miters and right and left endcaps. Non-90-degree miters are covered on a separate print approval, 11012-25392. Welded accessories are available when the material is at least .050 in. thick.
The other parts of the gutter run are:
- Endcap: riveted in the field with the rivets provided; caulk is supplied by others.
- Outlet: riveted in the field with the rivets provided; caulk is supplied by others.
- Elbows: fastened in the field with fasteners supplied by others.
- Downspout, with a large end and a small end: fastened in the field with fasteners supplied by others.
- Downspout straps: two per length of downspout.
Installation sequence for vertical fascia
The field notched lap joint version lists its components in this order:
- Install external gutter brackets first.
- Gutter.
- Field notch 2-in. lap at each joint.
- Endcap (field rivet and caulk, rivets provided, caulk by others).
- Outlet (field rivet and caulk, rivets provided, caulk by others).
- Elbows (field fasten, fasteners by others).
- Downspout (field fasten, fasteners by others).
- Downspout straps (2 per length).
The splice plate version has the same order, except that step 3 is a 6-in.-wide concealed splice plate at each joint instead of a notched lap.
Both versions use the same four steps to install the gutter into the external bracket:
- Push the gutter up under the backstop until it locks in place.
- Press the gutter lip down into the lip of the gutter bracket.
- Using thumbs, apply pressure, wrapping the bracket around the gutter.
- Completion.
