BLAZER 410 Stainless Steel Self-Drilling Screws

BLAZER 410 is a self-drilling screw made of 410 stainless steel with a hex washer head. The drill point cuts its own hole and the thread taps into the steel, so no pilot hole is needed. The screws suit exposed-fastener metal roofing and other metal building work. Pullout loads are tabulated for steel from 26 gauge (.018 in) to 1/2 in (.500 in).

The body is plated to resist surface rust and to reduce tapping torque, and it provides corrosion resistance in mild atmospheres. Plating options are passivated, zinc plated and TRI-SEAL coated. TRI-SEAL is a long-life coating that reduces tapping torque and adds corrosion protection. All sizes are available with bonded sealing washers. The screws are produced to SAEJ78, ASME B18.6.4 and AISI TS-4-02 and conform to ICC-ES AC118 acceptance criteria for tapping screw fasteners.

• Head: hex washer head (HWH). #8 has a 1/4 in head; #10, #12 and 1/4 sizes have a 5/16 in head; 1/4 also comes with a 3/8 in head.
• Material: 410 stainless steel.
• Plating: passivated (24 hrs salt spray), zinc plated (48 hrs salt spray), or TRI-SEAL coated (1,000 hrs salt spray). Call for sizes.
• Bonded washer: 304 stainless steel with EPDM sealant. #8 and #10 are 1/2 in o.d.; #12 and #14 are 15mm o.d.
