FAB-LOK Rivets

FAB-LOK is a blind fastener that combines a slotted aluminum sleeve and a fastener. It comes in two types. Type FAS is carbon steel. Type FAC is H-3 (300 series) stainless steel. The fasteners maintain panel integrity in high-stress environments such as high wind areas, expansion and contraction, severe vibration, racking and the repair of oversized holes. They are used in sheet-metal work such as metal roof replacement with exposed-fastener panels.

Vibration, either from inside or outside a building, can make ordinary fasteners loosen and back out. The sleeve and fastener together provide the simplicity and strength of both elements. Installation takes two steps: predrill with a 5/16 in diameter drill bit, then insert the FAB-LOK into the hole. The FAB-LOK holding sleeve, part EZL900, is used with a DEWALT screw-gun (DW268 or DW267).

• Aluminum bonded Weath-R-Seal washers: 0.729 in O.D., 0.040 in aluminum; 1 in O.D., 0.040 in aluminum
• 304 stainless steel bonded Weath-R-Seal washers: 0.729 in O.D., 20 gauge 304 S/S; 1 in O.D., 20 gauge 304 S/S
